In 1934, John A. Russell Sr. founded his construction business by building a set of steps. He took painstaking care to do the job right, because he knew that a good reputation is built by delivering a high quality product. “Doing things right” became the mission of the John A. Russell Corporation.
John applied this philosophy to every project, and his business grew to include new commercial construction and renovation work, including projects for Vermont Marble, CVPS and Green Mountain College.
In 1974, John A. Russell Jr. became the owner and president of the Russell Corporation. By continuing to live up to the company’s mission of “doing things right”, he grew the business into one of the largest construction firms in Vermont, and he expanded its service area throughout the Northeast. John Jr. also expanded the company’s quality services to include construction management, design/build and industrial services.
John A. Russell III assumed leadership of the Corporation in 2001. Having joined the company in 1984, he worked in various positions, learning the business from the ground up. This change in leadership has led the Russell family of companies to now include Russell Industrial Services and Russell Construction Services and into a new era of growth and prosperity.
The same determination and skill that started the company drives it today. In keeping with the time honored philosophy of “doing things right”, John III will continue the Company’s mission, bringing quality, integrity and reliability to every project.
